Are sports important on your high school resume when applying to go to a college?

Posted by on February 20, 2010

I am wondering because I am very athletic, however I am not sure if I want to participate in any Sports.

I take on a lot of leadership skills, extracurricular activities, and I am practically valedictorian, but just how important are sports on your resume?

Colleges like it if you played sports in high school because it shows that you are a team player and that you have school spirit.

It’s not necessarily better than other extracurriculars, but it does look good to colleges.

If you’re an active leader in other extracurriculars, it doesn’t matter at all. (Of course, if you want to do sports, that’s great, but don’t do it because you feel like you have to.)
