I have a 100 rms to 3000 cap component subwoofer that I would like to use for a Home Theatre system. How would I power it?
THere are plenty car amps for it, however I can not find one single amp for it to use at home.
Also, how do i make it to where it can hook up into a surround sound system?
You can not use car speakers for home use. Car audio operate on a direct current and home audio on alternating current. You can burn out your speaker or power amplifier. Car audio are designed for small enclosed area, and home audio are for large area. You can buy a subwoofer for your home audio and most of them only handle up to 100 watts, which is enough for most home use. Look for brands like: JBL, Infinity, Definitive Technology, Polk Audio and Klipsch to name a few. Hope this will help you out.
That’s because you’re not looking in the right place. Check out this site. They sell Surround Sound subwoofer amplifiers.

That is incorrect. Speakers are speakers and it doesn’t matter if they were designed for a car or home. The difference is how the amp gets power. Once the amp is powered the speaker will work just fine.

you just have to find amplifiers that allow speakers that are the same resistance. Many car subs are 4 ohms or lower. Hooking them to any home receiver or amp designed for 8ohm speakers is strongly discouraged and could ruin the amp…
. But most home receivers only send the audio signal to the subwoofer if your using the amp from your car and are just sending the audio signal to the car amp …as long as you can find a way to power the car amp then you are safe. I have seen people power car amps with PC power supplies and with 12 volt black power adapters….happy trails
