How can i connect my Home Theatre System to work whilst watching normal TV?

I just purchase a Samsung LED TV and the Blu ray/Home Theatre system came with it. I plugged all this up without any worries and its amazing. But now i am wondering if i can have the same 5.1 channel audio that i have whilst watching a blu ray whilst watching normal digital TV
please help me, thanks
