Does cooking food in a microwave still retain the goodness?

Posted by on March 7, 2010

the same as conventional Cooking?

Many things taste the same, some things taste better cooked in a microwave, and it’s much quicker. I just wondered if they destroy nutrients in food though?
I do conventional cooking as well but often use the microwave for quickness, or combination of the two methods.

Some studies show that microwaving changes the molecular structure of food, which wouldn’t be healthy. It also increases free radicals, which cause cancer. So, no mirowave food does not retain the "goodness".

    NO WAY

the only form of cooking that retains the "goodness" is raw cooking. All the enzymes are cooked out when you cook food over 113 f. I your concerned about nutrition i recommend eating a few meals a week that are raw, and filling not just a salad.

Yes. Microwaved chips are even better than the fried variety as they’re crispy. You can also microwave baked potato by sticking it full of holes and putting it in for about 8 minutes (less if it’s smaller)

lol ew! how lazy can somebody be if they cant take an extra 10 minutes to cook it on a stove!! :) I cook everything by scratch but if you don’t have time for that… you can buy a big bag of frozen chicken breasts and cook them all up in the oven on a weekend or when you have time and maybe half of them can be bbq and the other half can be lemon… then separate them and put them in the freezer to have with veggies for supper threwout the week… maybe 2 or 3 weeks… salmon too! it’s very easy and YES cooking with a microwave kills the food, we don’t cook our veggies period but microwaves are just plain bad! we don’t even own one! I’d just use the stove if I were you. :)
