How do I keep pets from crapping in the landscape?
We have pets that like to lay (and go #2 in the landscape in front of our house. What are some good ways to keep them out besides putting up a fence (ammonia, other odors)? Any good home remedies?
I have never tried this but I heard moth balls work good and so does cayenne pepper.my sis uses some kind of out door spray that she loves it is safe and they can not smell it it is called dog be gone or something like that !sorry I could not be of more help.
My sister is allergic to most household pets and I really want one! Any ideas?
I love pets and would love one but my sisters allergic. I would have a hypoallergenic cat but that’s way too expensive and reptiles are out of the question because I want something that you can cuddle. I live with my sister and even if I can get a hamster/rabbit/mouse and kept it in my room. My sister would still end up in hospital. (my sister isn’t allergic to birds though)
Do you have any pets I could have or anyway I could deal with this?
actually you can cuddle with a lot of reptiles more than you can with a hamster or something
leopard geckos, crested geckos and bearded … Read the rest
Can my landlord prevent us from having pets when my neighbors do?
Our management company took over this property about a year ago and we moved in shortly after. They stated no pets, yet 3 of our neighbors who lived here before our landlord took over have pets. Is there any law preventing them from discrimanting against us? If so please let me know.
You moved in after the rule kicked in, your neighbors are grandfathered in under the old rule probably for as long as their rent agreement is for.
They aren’t discriminating against you. You knew the rules, you signed the renter’s agreement signifying you agreed with the rules. Any new renters they get will probably not be allowed to … Read the rest
What kind of pets did people have during the American Revolution?
Just a curious question. A friend and I were discussing this and we found it would just be a neat thing to know. Did they even have pets? I’ve heard dogs were popular, but what kind? I’ve heard a lot of different answers, and research is too much of a pain for a ‘just to know’ question.
I don’t think they tended to keep pets (not the way we think of them), though they would have had working animals, including dogs to guard and manage livestock, horses for transportation, oxen for pulling heavy loads, and cats for pest control. I’m sure there were a few people who had a particular … Read the rest

I considered getting one of those enormous millipedes (it was like, a foot long. Huge.)
I’ve wanted an octopus since I saw a nature show about them. This research facility had one in a tank and kept the crabs to feed it in another tank nearby. Every morning, they would find crab … Read the rest
Tips When Buying Exotic Pets
Are the kind of person who would enjoy taking care of an exotic animal for a pet instead of a dog, cat, rabbit or any of the regular variety pets? Caring for an exotic pet is serious business, but it can also be a fun and challenging endeavor.
Exotic pets are animals that are not commonly considered pets by many. They are not your regular, every day pets. Unless your pet dog or cat belongs to a very rare species, it’s not an exotic pet. Exotic pets are also referred to as non-traditional pets because they are not the kind of pets that most pet owners would have. Some of … Read the rest
Are you normally allowed to keep pets when you buy a flat in Australia?
I’m looking to buy a flat but I’ve heard mixed stories about strata laws in Australia and being able to bring in pets. Is it normal that buildings don’t allow small pets like birds or cats even if you buy your own flat?
The general feedback from strata on pets is NO. This fluctuates between strata plans though as remember they apply to townhouses and apartments. If you are an owner it is probably easier to get a pet approved but as a tenant it can be very difficult.
Some strata plans are pet friendly (eg if there is a massive courtyard and it’s more like a terrace than a … Read the rest
What happens when married people with pets, divorce?
I am not in this situation or anything, but I was just thinking about it. If you are married, and have pets together, what happens when you get divorced if both parties want the animal? Do they have joint custody, or is one person awarded full custody and how do they decide who gets the pet?
My husband and I will never get a divorce, but if we ever did, he can have the house, I am taking the dogs.
Are beagles good pets and do they get along with other dogs?
We are thinking of getting a Beagle puppy. We already have a 7 year old female westie. The new puppy would be female too. Would they get along? Also are they cuddly dogs because I really want a nice snuggly one as well as playful. Are they good pets in general? Are they yappy too?
I owned two beagles that eventually went on to a have a HUGE litter of puppies! We enjoyed them so much. I would recommend getting a beagle. They are even tempered, playful, happy, and I have even found them to be snuggly too. Mine was always laying right up against me like a baby!! We … Read the rest
Insurance for Vip Pets
When most people think a pet is spoiled feel that it is getting to many treats, has too many expensive toys scattered around the ground, or it’s allowed to sleep at night in bed with its humans, normally taking up the entire bed and hogging all the covers. I once even saw a pot bellied pig who was so spoiled that its humans designed an built the miniature porker its very own out house so it wouldn’t get cold answering natures call.

What are some interesting or exotic pets allowed in Australia?
Okay, well I’m 16 years old. I have epilepsy and have startle seizures so a loud pet isn’t a good choice at all. I am willing to spend a fair bit of money on the animal itself. I live in Victoria, so ferrets and rabbits are legal, but I’m looking for something different see?
I wondered if anyone could list (maybe) as many pets that I could possibly keep (indoor or outdoor) andd some sources on how to care for it.
How about a veiled chameleon? Here is a care sheet with pictures:

A Look at Snowbirds and Their Pets
Long before winter’s blustery chill begins to sting the bones, plans are being made by people in Canada, the Northeast and Midwestern United States to seek the warmer climes of the south. It’s an interesting phenomenon that occurs each year and mimics the migration ritual of our feathered friends.
These “snowbirds” (as they are affectionately called) flock to Arizona, Florida and other places along the Sunbelt to avoid winter’s bite and inconvenience. Northern Europeans also are known to head to warmer places in the U.S., adding to these second communities of seasonal residents each year.
Snowbirds are typically retirees or business owners who can afford to be away for extended … Read the rest
Can you take pets out of the country?
I heard you can’t take pets out of the country. Im planning on getting a new pup and i’m moving to the bahamas afterwards. Will I be able to do this and what will i have to do?
Yes, you can take your beloved pet when you’re moving out of the country. But be aware that most countries have a quarantine regulation. Your pet may need to spend as much as 6 months in a separated kennel facility.
I’ve given you a website to check about your specific country in the source section.
What is happening to pets at home australia?
Mum told me today that Pet Barn is taken over Pets at Home fountain gate,
On further investigation pet barn is also taken over the other two pets at home stores in Mill park and Chadstone.
Does anyone know if Pet barn will take over the Lort Smith Animal Adoption program?
Does Anyone know if Pets at Home will be closed for good? Or are they moving to different locations?
Or are the simple combining both stores and closing the animal adoption program?
i think they are taking over all the Pets at home but im not sure about the adoption side of things. I hope they keep it going… Read the rest
What happens to the pets at a pet store if the pet store goes out of business?
It is advised that when wanting a pet, it is best to adopt at a shelter or adopt one from a reputable breeder. Pet store pets come from puppy mills and buying a pet from a pet store is supporting puppy mills.
But what happens to the pets if the pet store shuts down? Are they put in animal shelters? If they’re going to end up in animal shelters anyway, isn’t purchasing a pet "saving" it?
You have good logic, I must admit. BUT! Unless your buying when the pet store for sure is closing it IS better to get from the shelter.
What do you feed your carniverous pets?
This is a legitimate question. I can assure you I’m not trying to be flippant or smart by asking it. For all vegans, do you feed your pets (mainly cats and dogs) traditional pet food made with meat? I’m mainly curious to receive answers from vegans who choose to be vegan because they think it’s cruel to kill animals. Part two (for those of you who feed your pets regular old dog/cat food): Why is it OK to kill animals for your pets to eat, but not for you to eat? Don’t you think that the chickens and lambs and ducks and whatever other animals they use to make pet … Read the rest
How to Prepare Your Pets for Immigration
It’s a known fact that animals have the amazing ability to calm their owners and promote positive emotions. So, besides the fact that if they’re left behind, they most probably will suffer from separation anxiety, if you migrate with your pets, they’ll most likely help you ease into your new home and country.
If you want to migrate with your pets – this is what you need to know!!

There are a few restrictions in regards to pet immigration in various countries. Pet Immigration is not a very simple process but it is very possible. For example, if you’ve decided to migrate to New Zealand consider that this country … Read the rest
