In england compulsory education is until age 16. Then if we want to, we go to 6th form/college until we are 18 (depending on the length of the course). Then we go to university.

Styles change so no you would not find what they sold 3 yrs. ago. Furniture stores have to stay on top of trends and will discontine items that are no longer in trend. It’s the same with fabrics and colors.
How do you connect a turntable through a home theatre system with no grounding pin?
I have a Technics direct drive turntable and a Sony 5.1 home theatre in a box setup.
My guess is that you do not have a turntable input. That is how most receivers are these days (which is a very stupid omission on the part of the manufacturers). If that is the case with yours, our going to have to buy separate a turntable preamp to go between the turntable and one of the inputs on the receiver. Phono inputs included on receivers are SPECIFICALLY AND ONLY designed for turntable use, nothing else.
